I'm looking for a good sound barrier material to quiet the sound of my Magnaflow. The rear seats are almost unbearable for my two boys. I came across this Brown Bread stuff on b-quiet.com . Any opinions or experience? If I can't quiet the interior of the car, then my wife will probably take my car to a shop and have them rip the magnaflow off the car! (hmmm, not a bad idea...then I'll just run a straight header!!)

Talk to "Obehave" on Mini2. He did some extensive soundproofing on his car after he installed his Magnaflow. I think he used a product called "dynamat." Anyway, he's the man to talk to...

Yeah, I made the switch from white to wheat a few years ago. It takes some getting used to, but just keep in mind that it's healthy and .... huh? Oh, you're talking about something else? Oh, well, never mind.

B Quiet

I also have the Magnaflow, and couldn't deal with the drone on the highway.

2 layers of B quiet under the back seat, boot, sides, and hatch didn't do enough.

Then I took it to a shop and had the exaust modified. you can see pictures of the mod on page 330 0f the Members MINI's gallery.

This cured the drone, while still leaving the beautiful sound. If you do a search for Magnaflow + split, you should be able to find my comments.

How old are your sons? Noise cancelling headphones will work with a DVD screen built into the front seat headrests-rear facing.

To reduce noise inside your MINI, you will be looking for something that is sound dampening or sound absorbing.
Some people use Dynamat or Dyanamat extreme with their audio upgrades to reduce vibration and absorb sound.
My audio shop also recommended Cascade audio VB products-they have kits for car doors and rear boot/trunks.
http://www.cascadeaudio.com/products.html
Contact them and see what could be added to the doors, rear quarter panel and boot area. Might cost several $100s but then you get to keep your Magnaflow.
My son is 12 and he likes my aftermarket exhaust. He asks "Do all MINIs sound this loud??"
Now he wants to drive it.

Oops! the correct page is currently 15, and I guess that will change too as more pictures are added to the gallery.

Thanks ya'll for the info. I still can't find anyone with direct experience with Brown Bread product...oh well.

Here's something interesting:
With myself, my wife, and two babies in the car, the noise is louder than it is by myself. I just did a 400+ mile trip last night with just myself and one of my sons in the back...it was much quieter. Hey, maybe the noise is coming from my woman! I'll wrap her in Dynamat and my problem may be solved!
