What should I pay.....?

Hi Everyone,

I've never owned a mini and hoping to soon! Could you help me figure out if $15,000 is a good price for a 2003 MCS?
41K miles, leather interior, sunroof. One owner and all maintenance records available. Scratch on driver side door, otherwise nearly new condition. Power locks & windows, stereo w/CD, a/c, power steering, rear defrost, cruise control, ABS brakes, power mirrors, supercharged engine, front and side air bags, overhead airbags, alloy wheels, traction control, manual 6 speed transmission.

The scratch is on the rear left quarter panel just in front of the gas cap. It is about a 10 inch horizontal scratch that just barely breaks the surface. It is white now because it was waxed after it was scratched.

KBB is 16,050 for good condition private party. Trade-in for good condition is $14,200
Links are below, not sure if they will work or not.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

Sounds like...

a completely base 2003 S except for metalic paint (BRG), leather and the sun roof....everything else listed is standard equipment I believe.

Seems within reason to me....
you could end up needing tires or brakes soon...depending on what the records say.

I think you have a 'good condition private party'

party on dude....

additional ****

looks like the owner MAY not be a MINI folk....

does it have the auto-air-conditioning and the multi-function steering wheel (radio buttons on the steering wheel)? If so, it has the premium package rather than just the sun-roof.

It is completely stock. It does have the auto air and the multi function steering wheel. The owner doesnt seem as much of a "MINI" folk as most of the people on the forum! tires have a lot of tread left on them (run flats). Thanks for the response!

I haven't ran a carfax yet, good idea! She had all the maint records and was consistent about servicing. She did mention that this last year she has gone back and forth between putting mid grade fuel and premium. Could this cause any damage to the engine?
