R50/53 Ah, the power of imagination.....
On my way to Moritz to place my order this afternoon I was taking one of those round about exits off of 360. As I swept through the banked curve I realized how often and consistently I find myself imagining what driving will be like behind the wheel of my Mini! All lanes, roads, streets, highways, etc and their peculiarities now take on new significance.
How I long to be DRIVING again, to leave the world of all those unfortunate motorists out there simply along for the ride in their SUV's and other lesser performing autos. It won't be too soon when I finally leave that sad group.
I can't wait! Unfortunately I have to! I walked into the dealership, check book at the ready. Expecting to hear a wait only slightly shorter than John Roberts (January!) quoted I expected a December delivery. Turns out Moritz still has Mini's in the October allotment and I would take delivery by mid November.
I plan on paying cash for the car, but not that fast! Of course I drove away completely frustrated at the prospect of having more time to obsess over and second guess my color choices! To make matters worse when I called my wife at her office to tell her what transpired she asked "why didn't you just finance it and then we'll pay it off after the first of the year?"
Argghhhhh! Chris the sales person had suggested that very same scheme and I was trying to be responsible to what my wife and I had originally planned.
Oh well, guess I'll wait another day or two. Going out of town for the weekend and I don't know if I can take care of it before Tuesday.
Guess I'll have to continue to use my imagination!
See you on the road eventually.......

Dear Ker,
You really shouldn't let yourself get so stressed. Bad for your heart and besides you must learn to enjoy the whole process. Life is too short. We create all things twice. First in our minds, (as you are doing now), and then physically. It is the human way. We'll be looking for on the road, very soon.
