Que?

I've had my 03 MCS for almost a year now, and since the day I got it I've wondered what in the world this thing is on my roof.

Judging from the wiring connector there, I bet there is something optional that isn't there. So any ideas?

Are you sure you don't have one of the rather rare MCSs's? For a very brief time they made some models that were supposed to be submersible and come with periscopes. In the end the liability issues scared them too much and they discontinued the model. Maybe yours was one that got changed in mid-production and they just left out the periscope. Otherwise I have no idea what it is.

Blast! I've been jipped! I was actually thinking that if that wire went to something which could be controlled by a switch, that I create my own custom ambient lighting or just use it to smuggle very small things.

I have one of the "boxes" and a sunroof and still nothing attached ...

I thought it was where one of the sensors went for OEM alarm ...?

That's a shame really, because I was hoping I could fit a toggle to the other end of those wires and have a disco ball drop down. I suppose I'll use it to smuggle Kentucky cigarettes into Ohio.

No, gentlemen. Check with Spaceman Spiff. It is the mounting point for the Mertilizer Ray control handle. Hobbes fires, Calvin pilots.

I do believe we must all defer to the Mariner ... he is ancient after all, and therefore carries with him the wisdom of the ages. Albeit with only 671 posts!

By the way ... when we digress like this, are we violating some "off topic" rule somewhere?

That's for the antenna & optional GPS.

One time I got my antenna mount (the black little thing on the roof) got rip off, so I need to get it replace. And the mechanic get that thing opened & unscrew the mount from inside & he asked me if I got GPS installed, so I suspected that place not only for the antenna mount but also the GSP device hookup.

I am sure that 80% of the posts here have "Off topic" written all over them, the first 10 or so posts are "spot on" then its all downhill from there.

Oh yeah, put a periscope in where that box is.

It is for the Alarm system that comes with a motion sensor, if you dont have that its just there and I am sure you can do something else with it. But thats why its there.
