R50/53 Alignment, Glueing rear control arms?
Alignment, Glueing rear control arms?
Just bought the MCS lowered with rear control arms rear sway bar etc... on 18s and have the 17 s-lights as well that i will use as winter wheels. Should i get an alignment? The wheels look good and i dont have any tracking issues, but the previous owner said he didnt get one and that he was waiting for the alignment so he could glue the rear control arms? What does that mean, and should i get the alignment, i think the fronts are good with the tracking and everything, but wondering about the backs as well?
If it is lowered and has not been aligned definately get one. A vehicle can track straight and still be out of alignment, I've seen it a million times. As far as glueing the lower control arms I have no idea what that person was talking about... lets just hope they didn't mean w/ elmers or something.
Only thing I can think about gluing with regards to the control arms would be if the car had aftermarket adjustable control arms. If that were the case then it wouldn't be odd to hear about gluing (or otherwise securing) the adjusters on the control arm in order to make sure the camber value doesn't migrate as the control torques back and forth and loosens the locking nuts.
