Ok, so I can't claim total responsibility for this since my boyfriend introduced me to the product, but there is a great cleaning product called VinylX that I used all along my MINI's black trim (around the wheels and below the doors.) Since the trim has a tendancy to get dull and almost white-ish in spots, I was looking for something to make it look shiny but not greasy. I highly recommend this product! It made my black trim shine and look really great! You can buy it at carcareonline.com. It is also great for cleaning the leatherette seats and keeping that new car smell!

Thanks.
I already waxed my car and did not worry as I got some wax on the black. On my other cars it always came right off. It has not come off my MINI. I tried Armourall and it did not work. Will have to try this.

I wash mine with window washer liquid, then spray it with some new stuff called Eagle One Wax as U Dry, it's the best I've ever used and I've been polishing cars for over 50 years. All that other polish and wax and rub stuff is outa here!
I have a yellow with white roof and 17'' wheels... GGGRRRREAAAATTTT! You don't have to use Armoral or any of that other junk...Try it you'll love it. Right over the plastic...No swirls.. Really! I had problems with swirls and with the black plastic going white until I found this Eagle 1 liquid. It is excellent, and I don't work for them. Ron . Yes I have posted this before but I keep reading about white problems on the black plastic. It's the only product you'll need for the whole job.

As an obsessive perfectionistic detailer, I will put in my most enthusiastic vote for Vinylex. It is made by the same company that makes Lexol cleaners and products for leather. I have tried a lot of products on the market--most of the big brand stuff (e.g., Armorall) does not work anywhere near as well as Vinylex. Armorall looks okay at first, but fades very fast (as soon as it dries). Vinylex puts the best, non-glossy, new-look finish you can imagine, then stays looking that way even after it dries. It is the best!

Thanks for this info! I was just about to post a question asking if anyone had used Eagle One Wax as U Dry. I have been tempted to this product. But, I have been a little skeptical. It seemed too good to be true. Now that you recommend the product I think I'll go pick up some and see how it works.
