Just a thought, but it seems that most of the problems started after off-topic was banished from the side bar. I know I miss it. I also know I missed out on a fantasy football league! Arghh!

I think there was lots of discussion and agreement about the motivation for moving Off-Topic and, although I'd personally have been happy either way, the decision seemed reasonable and in MCO's best interest. I do most of my posting in Off-Topic or MINI Talk, so I keep up with all that through "the pulse." I miss things, too, but that's just because I'm too busy here at the office to check in as much as I'd like. Its seems true that the move of OT was linked to the BMW legal thing, but any other negative stuff just, to me anyway, seems to be just a coincidence.

Off-topic was pulled from the last 5 topics and active forums list for a number of reasons. One of the main reasons is the limited ability to monitor everything that is posted to the OT forum (with 9000 members it is impossible for me to monitor every single post on the site). To date there have been a lot of off-color discussions in OT and I don't want the new visitor (or visitor from BMW when the legal issues broke) to think that all the site offered was OT. That said, I do want to keep OT as I think its an important part of the MINI community. In the future I'm considering some ways to provide better access to OT but it requires that I get the site migrated to the new software platform.

Thanks

Mark

Funny you should mention OT....looks like there are some people who have an easier time discussing "Is War the Answer?" heatedly than discussing 'sidestripes' or 'intakes' without becoming emotionally involved.
I 'd personally like to see an IQ demographic. I'll bet it has dropped considerably since the 3/02 sales start date.

All very fair and good points, Mark. I remember when the discussion came up a while back and you certainly have far more importants matters pressing now.

Good luck with the law-talking guys.
