R50/53 Can't Wait for December 2003 Club !
>>RaiderZA, how long a wait was it from 'schedule for production' to 'awaiting transport' ??
Well, I ordered the car on the 8th of October, and by the weekend (I'd say 12th), the website said scheduled for production by 31 October.
So from the 12th until this Saturday 25th- 13 days!!

My MCS is scheduled to load on the Jingu Maru tomorrow (01 Nov) bound for New York, arriving 11 Nov! Apparently she rolled of the line at Oxford on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Needless to say, I am very happy--particularly as our firstborn is due on Christmas Eve. I wanted to drive the Mini for a couple of weeks before it became a three person affair. (now to get the child seat in the back.)

Hey RaiderZA, I ordered mine on eiththe 7th or 8th so our babies will be delivered by the same doctor (so as to speak).
Mine will be destined for Newark NJ before delivery to New York. And you?

Our cars MAY be on the same boat. Even tho' my OL says it's still waiting for transport, when i punched my VIn into the shipping tracking website, it says my boy is already loaded, and the ship has sailed.
So check if your is also on board at the Wallenius Wilhemsen Website (you can find the link at MINI2 FAQ)
My info: on board the Tosca (voyage designation: EQ330-TOS) - loaded at Southampton on 26 Oct @ 13:41. Ship has sailed
Arriving at New York terminal on 4 November, then at Charleston (my stop) on 6 November.
I guess that's when they will hold it hostage for a month!!

Mine was ordered the same week but had an epd of 11/7 the whole time, and just changed to 11/14 last night.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with the individual dealer. Like if my dealer is taking way more orders than yours, even though we order on the same day will you get yours much earlier? Does that make sense?

I have no idea why, but I suppose it may make sense regarding demand. Make sure your website is not ourdated by checking the shipping site. My Ol site still says awaiting transport, but the shipping data lists my VIN number among the 61 MINIS on the Tosca. Does anyone know how i can find its call sign (Tosca's, not my MINI's)?
For those you you that are the proud owners of one (or more) of the 61 MINIs on the Tosca, I believe the call sign for the ship is S6AN (correct me if I'm wrong)- if you want to track her across the pond. i have not been able to find her yet. I have this recurring nightmare of a seedy sailor taking my Number 7 for rubber burning spins on the upper decks...
UPDATE:
Hey I think I found the ship. Doesn't the BRG color on my car look great?

I got my VIN from the MINI Owners Lounge. If you go to the 'detail' link in the 'Track your car' page, you'll see the VIN and car specs.
Also, your MA should have your VIN by now.

Well the Raider part is because of the football team. I have a penchant for troubled sports organizations: Raiders, Red Sox, Tottenham Hotspurs (Premier league football [soccer]). The ZA is a country designation.
When I ordered my MCS in late August, my MA in San Antonio, Texas said it would most likely be January before the car would arrive. Yesterday I found out (by telephoning MINIUSA) that my car had started down the production line on Monday, 11/3 -- almost two weeks earlier than the 11/14 date that had been posted on the website as the estimated production date.
So . . . maybe I should be in the December Club instead of the January Club? Time will tell. I have read of cars arriving at dealers as little as six or seven weeks after production was finished . . . so I will hope that maybe mine will come by Christmas. That would be very nice !
Ordered my MCS on 9/29/03 from Dryer & Reinbold MINI in Indianapolis. Today it was loaded on the "Madame Butterfly" scheduled to arrive in New York on 11/20/03.

bumping you back to the top!
It's getting close for you Dec club members! As your production weeks pass and you are loaded on the ships, it's only 2 weeks to cross and then 1-2 weeks to get to your dealer. It goes fast!! Have fun!

2 weeks? You must be on the west coast. Lucky for me I live in Michigan. Southampton - NY: 8 days on the Madame Butterfly.
Woohoo! 6 days til it docks!

Looks like my PW/B MC is sitting on the docks awaiting transport. With any luck she'll leave Southhampton on the 17th and arrive in NY on the 27th. Can't wait....
