Differences between US and Euro Xenons? ('05-'06)

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at updating the xenons on my '04 MCS to the newer style on the '05/'06 projector style, mostly because my current lights (among other things ) got sandblasted with the windstorm we had last week.

I was playing around on realoem, and found that there are different part numbers between left-hand drive US and left-hand drive European market cars. Does anyone know the difference between the two? Does the Euro model have a sharper cut-off in the light pattern? Also, those of you w/ xenons in Europe - do you have automatic headlight leveling or do you have a switch on the dash for that?

My gf is going back to Switzerland next month for a few weeks. If the Euro light has a better light pattern and is otherwise interchangeable with the US lights, I'll have her try to pick up a set for me.

Thanks in advance!

if i remember correctly, i think the right side is aimed a little higher than the left side for cars here in the US so that the light reflects better on the traffic signals........anyone else correct me if im wrong!

This is what I am suspecting. I've got a set of euro-code (Hella H4) headlights on my Jeep - the beam pattern is a lot more 'focused', and the beam cut-off sharper than that of my xenon-equipped '04 MCS.

I live in a rural part of Alaska, where the roads generally aren't lit at all. I learned early on that DOT headlights suck, so all of my vehicles get E-code headlights if reasonably possible. E-codes are much nicer for seeing large creatures such as moose, bear, and deer on the road. Somehow they don't seem to blind oncoming traffic as much as DOT lights either. Hmmmm...
