Yesterday, August 31, I drove from my home in New Mexico to Mini of Scottsdale in Phoenix to test drive a Cooper S. While driving the S, I asked about the availability and how long the wait was to order. You can imagine what I felt when the saleman said he had not one but three Cooper S' on the floor for sale. Then having seen what some other dealers charge for in stock cars I asked, how much over list? I think I allmost choked when he told me straight MSRP, no markup no added items unless I wanted them. I ended up buying a electric blue Cooper S with leather. It has dealer added tint and rubber floormats but I wanted those anyway. They still had another electric blue and a dark grey on the floor, but there seemed to be quite a few people milling around when I left.

And to think I had resigned myself to waiting six months to pay list.

Happy motoring.
