Inflation?

Everything is going up in price these days. Gas, food, entertainment at AMVIV. But a $1500 pulley? That's $100 per one percent reduction. Maybe if I can find enough foo... ahem... people they would do a group discount.

i think there is already a pretty long thread having a go with this product already.

the cost is justified because its weapons grade titanium.
i'm holding out for a $4000 pulley made out of supercharger pulley grade titanium.

Comes with a "Mechanic-in-a-Box", and self-installs.
And in case of war, well, hey, you're ready to go. It's 'weapons grade'.
(of course, so is lead when it's in a bullet...) Palo Uber Alles at it again.

-skip-
P.S. afinely; yeah, Chili Red outruns everything, even when it's sitting still.

I just read through the catalog, and nearly soiled my knickers reading the copy. At those prices, I would at least expect proper grammar.
They should have used the "weapons-grade" spell-check when writing that crappola!

I would really like to know what 'weapons grade' means. Is it 6/4 ti or 3/2.5 or is there an ASTM# associated....

it's like calling their rusting wheel bolts 'above F1 grade' or whatever silliness it was.

PU uses hyperbole to convince unwitting buyers that their stuff is quality and unique when it's little more than rebadged average crap.

99% perfect

gee....for the price, should be 100%, no?

99% smooth weight distribution internally
CNC means 100% - PU sells inferior crap, proudly.

This results in almost (99.99%) perfect rotational balance
almost?

Mounted on a completely stock Mini Cooper S engine, you will dyno test 20 to 21 horse power increase and you will achieve equal amounts of both boost and torque.
or about the same as any 15% pulley on the market, whether it aluminum, moon rock, unobtanium or from Martin Martian's Space Modulator

Due to the molecular structure of titanium, the internal density of the material(titanium)is 99.87% smooth
pure titanium is useless It has to be allowed with <gasp> aluminum to be useful for machining.

The six stainless bolts are grade 10.9 (the highest possible rating),
if titanium is so great, why use lowly SS bolts? lots of titanium fasteners out there....BBS uses them on their premium wheels

They ought to spend more time clicking 'spell check' instead of thinking of all the variations of '99.__%' they can write in. 99.9999% horse**** is what it is.

check out the vendor announcement on the new hoodscoop. 'German aerospace grade carbon fiber' and Dieter the designer. roflnuk

Goes to show what a bargain this pulley was months ago when it was selling for $798.

Mounted on a completely stock Mini Cooper S engine, you will dyno test 20 to 21 horse power increase
Hey, that's the same power increase they claim for their aluminum pulley. . . so why the extra $1300?
Especially when the aluminum one is already claimed to be:
Without question the Palo Uber pulley is the finest quality worldwide.
Actually, months ago the aluminum pulley was claimed to add 19-20 hp -- I guess they've done some of their "extensive road testing" since then and bumped it up to 20-21.

Probably the same extensive testing which leads them to state that 15% reduction does not cause the same type of bearing damage as has been witnessed in 16 and 17% reduction pulleys.

THE WORLDS ONLY WEAPONS GRADE TITANIUM 15% SELF ALIGNING SUPERCHARGER PULLEY.
do you really need a "weapons grade" material on the pulley?

Only if they are planning on it to grenade your engine bay.
