For the past few weeks, these CDS have been stuck in my car:

Kinks - Face to Face
Trainspotting soundtrack
Hum - Downward is Heavenward
Le Tigre
Eek-a-Mouse - four albums on 2 CDS

Overall, though, I think my car's favorite album is Rubber Soul.

I just bought Fu Manchu's double live CD "Go For It...Live".

SoCal stoner rock at it's finest. And songs like "Hell on Wheels", "Asphalt Risin'", "Boogie Van", and "King of the Road" were made to be Motored to. Although you should probably be in a '70's muscle car to do it in..

Hey chrisnl,

Is your MINI named "Boognish"?

Just a question.

>>What about The Little Guy tune. I ripped the audio off a commercial for the new MINI that was in quicktime. I think the commercial was done by MINI of Canada.

Yeah I wish I knew the name of that song! I wanted to play it in my car so badly the second I was the commercial.

I usually just have my iPod on shuffle so it ranges from Mozart to Punk with jazz, electronica, new wave, old ska and a little bit of everything else --including plenty of Herb Alpert, great stuff--here is the playlist of the "Made for Motoring CD I burned for my first drive home from the dealer...

Sunshine Pig Chris and Tad (from MINI production #1)
Hot Rod Lincoln Commander Cody
Roadrunner The Modern Lovers
Brand New Cadillac Clash
Crankshaft Fiends
Devil In My Car B-52's Wild Planet
Warm Leatherette Grace Jones
5ive Gears In Reverse Elvis Costello
Let's Buzz The Paladins
Mustang Sally Wilson Pickett
Route 66 Rolling Stones
Born To Run Bruce Springsteen
Middle Of The Road The Pretenders
Rev It Up & Go Stray Cats
Cadillac Cruisin' Keith Joe **** & The Goners
Get Out Of My Way! Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper
Behind The Wheel Tailgators
I'm In Love With My Car Queen
Cars Gary Numan
Autobahn Kraftwerk
Beep Beep The Playmates

It also opens with the sound of a MINI door opening and closing and the motor starting and ends with the sound of a MINI horn honking...fun stuff

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are great, I love the cover versions they do.

Goldfinger puts on the best shows, I've been to about 10 of them and they always
tear it up.

Apokalyptica dark euro hardcore refined is always a pleasure

DUDE FREDDIE AGUILAR! I gotta give you props that is straight hardcore pinoy bro.

I'm messing with you, much love, much love.

Beach Boys 409....I have forgiven them for not using a 409 for the engine sound at the beginning of the song.

Anything by Booker T and the MG's

Stick Shift by The Duals, (no one's heard of this?)

Hot Rod Lincoln. I actually like Asleep at the Wheel's version better than Commander Cody.

Wooly Bully, Sam the Sham.

Louie Louie, The Kingsmen

Hmmm... well now, I've seen lots of eclectic menangeries so far... mine's definitely NOT mainstream in the least, and this is just a sample (I spend way too much money on music - at least that's what my wife says, heh):

Ming and FS - Subway Series
Uberzone - The Digital Mix
DJ Rap - Touching Bass
Out Patients 3 - Hospital Records
Klute - Lie, Cheat and Steal
London Elektricity - Billion Dollar Gravy
DJ Sage - Drum'n'Bass Essentials v. 1
DJ Dara - Exercise v. 1
Bad Company - Shot Down on Safari

Ms. Dynamite - A Little Deeper
People Under the Stairs - O.S.T.
Talib Kweli - Quality
Black Star - Black Star
Digable Planets - Reachin'

Wow, so many good suggestions, though I notice a real Southern California influence. I'm awaiting delivery of mine and have been considering what to play first on the drive home. London Calling was a suggestion I like. My plan, though, is to start with a somewhat rare old Yardbirds tune, The Train Kept a Rollin. Jeff Beck really rocks on it and it is soooo 60s. null

Woops, I sort of forgot about this thread and didn't see your question. My car doesn't have a name, but if it did, Boognish would be a pretty likely choice.

I saw Ween Tuesday on the New Hampshire shore, and it rocked!

This week my MINI is featuring Yellowman, the Dead Milkmen, and Le Tigre (still! it's great motoring music, I swear!).
