I feel the same way too!! In the past, I would always race to make it through the yellow light at an intersection. Now I find myself slowing down so more people can check out my silk green mini!!!

It's amazing the kind of reaction the little cars get isn't it?? I couldn't immagine the vast majority of Americans who have been trained to want/appreciate what the pop media TELLS them they should would be CAPABLE of appreciating a MINI, but (with a few exceptions) it seems to be universaly loved!! How, in our SUV-bigger-is-better, 6% of the world's population and over half the consumption of resources, NRA and MTV culture could the beautiful, small, practical, effecient, little MINI get the kind of reaction that it does???

I've gotten complements from teenagers at bus stops, old men, drivers of everything from Ford-Excessives to lowered rice-rocket-clown-cars and big full sized conversion vans, policemen standing around in front of a 7-11, people out camping at the beach, co-workers, career military officers, and more random people on the street than I can remember in the last two days!

You can still find a lot of the "BIGGER MEANS BETTER" attitude, for instance people with $30,000.00 cars who ask how much I payed... I tell them they start at around $16,000.00 and they act shocked and say "That's too much!". How an Acura driver can say my car costs to much I just can't understand, or worse yet anyone in a (S)*** (U)tility (V)ehicle that can't even park in most parking places and have to damn near take out a second mortgage to pay for fuel.
