Only way to tell if is has LSD is the sticker, or MINIUSA. LSD was available as of 1/05 (corrected date)

I am looking as well. I owned a 02 and so not familiar with convience pack, but this is what I know.
1. Premium pack, look for auto air buttons instead of manual rotating dials, sunroof, cruise buttons.
2. Sport pack, look for DSC(second from the left, make sure it doesn't say ASC) toggle switch, fog lamps.
3. cold weather pack, look for heated seats buttons next to mirror switch in rear direction of shifter.
I have been looking and finding that people state that they often have packages they don't have. So when it does come down to your final decision, I agree with DooLocsta and call MINI!

Call 866.ASK.MINI with the VIN. They will tell you the options and where it was serviced, but not what was serviced.
I plugged that number into speed dial and sat on dealer lots calling it and asking for info. Much faster than email and you can get some pretty decent answers to questions if you're polite.
