R50/53 seat belt?

Does anyone know why the seat-belt lock has that loop stuff on it. It looks like the furry end of a velcro attachment. I asked BMW when they called as a follow-up to purchase of my Yellow/black S and didn't get any answer. Hopeing you guys might have some notions :smile:

Maybe (since you said it looks like the fuzzy side of velcro)..... it's so you can attach the stiffer piece of velcro to things you wish to keep close..... so you can just stick them to the seat belt!?
