Thats about the funniest thing I've ever heard, and I wish I thought of it first, but, too late for me.

I've always named cars:
72 VW Beetle- Lady Blue
69 Cadillac- Dr. Death
96 Mustang GT- Minnie (ironic, huh?)
94 Jeep Wrangler- The Multipurpose 5 (as you can see by my name, I'm still in mourning, just sold here yesterday)
and finally, my 2002 MCS- Cecilia

 

I've been too busy driving to take time to think of a name but I'll work on it. I have a cat named Gary Cooper

 

All of my cars have been male, or neutered -- I don't know why. And they've had a variety of names:

1947 International Pickup --- KayBee
1978 Renault 5 --- Pierre
1976 VW Bus --- Das Boot
1962 Chrysler 300 --- Norman

I had two suggestions from friends about the name for my new MINI. Both were male and both English. Though "Austin" was really a great idea given the car's pedigree, I decided on Ringo.

I wonder if Mr. Starr will own a MINI as well as a Mini...Ringo's Mini

 

I knew from the moment I decided I could get one, I'd name her Winnie Cooper. Only one other name tempted me later. Minnie Driver I'm sticken with Winnie

Both of my '73 Cortinas were named Tina, the '82 Mazda 626 was named Maggie, the '99 Subaru SUS is named Susie, the '91 Eagle Talon was named Puppet, the '73 Charger was "The Beast". None of my classic Minis had names. I think the Cooper S (when it arrives) will be named Brick as a reference to the "Flying Brick" nickname of classic Minis. The Cooper S's I've sat in definately seemed male to me.

 

my MINI is a male and his name is Corban. I know he's a male because of his two chrome ***** hanging out the back. Corban is Hebrew for "Money". check him out...

Since everyone is giving all the names of previous cars, I thought you would like the name of my husband's PT Cruiser. We have had a LOT of reliability/safety issues with it, so we named it the Hindenberg. (it also helps that it is silver)

The Jolly Roger it is a ps/bk roof and one the frist things it is getting it the skull and cross bones on the roof.

My wife and sons named my MCS which is Chili RED/White roof "SANTA"

 

My baby car is named BadSeed, after Nick Cave and the Badseeds the greatest band in the world.

 

My MINIs name is Lizzie. I'm not really sure why, but when I saw her for the first time I knew that was her name. My husband looked at me like I was nuts the first time I said it but yesterday I overheard him call her Lizzie too!

 

My leel pepper white MC will be called "Peppy" when I pick him up in Denver on Oct. 12.

 

I already posted to this, but I changed my mind.

I pick my baby up tomorrow!! I was going to call her PiP -- pepper white/pepper white...but deep down, I knew she would be Gidget.

Guess that's why I signed up w/this name. Gidget to me represents a lot of things that are "fun" cute and perky -- 1960's sally field ya know. And, I wasn't even born yet, but i love that era.

I tried to think of a name for something yellow and fast. On a 60 mile bicycle ride I thought of Lance Armstrong. Now my minis name is Lance

 

Mine will be called Rooney, after an episode of Only Fools and Horses, a classic British comedy..........right now Rooney is awaiting transport .....YEAH!!!

My wife has a different name for it, however. Her name for it is, "that @#$%* car you've been obsessing over." :smile:

 

My wife named my MCS Stubby. Probably because it was parked between her car and our Minivan when she saw it last night for the first time.

My all silk green mini is aptly named 'Aldridge', from the English Bulldog champion line.

Out of curiosity....... How many of you already had a name picked out BEFORE you took delivery??

The question obviously only applies to those who own their minis! BUT If you do not yet own your mini a similar question could be asked...... but it would be more along the lines of...... Do you own the mini you have named? LOL

I named mine before I picked her up, but when I saw her, I changed her name. I wanted to call her Vivian, but when I saw her she was definately a Lucy!
