I pulled the trigger

So i decided to pull the trigger and go get an R56

I blame my cousin because he works at Herb Chambers in Boston and is getting me a great deal off the sticker price. So I'm trading in my R53 for an R56.
It'll be a Dark Silver w/black roof, 2007. She has Premium, Sport, Convenience, and Cold weather packages. Unfortunately i only got the Leatherette which was a serious dissapointment because my R53 has had panther leather and I loved that.

So I have my PROMINI performance intake, and Red silicone alta couplers for sale. PM for a price

Thanks everyone

Man I just moved up from my 02 MCS leatherette to an 06 JCW with panther and even after only a few days I couldn't go back to leatherette, let alone all the other new goodies! Hope you like the R56

I don't know if you all are messing with him or if this is really the consenses about the R56. If so, then be assured that every communtiy rejects change, not just the MINI ones. People did it with the Wranglers for 2007 because they loved their 4.0L engines and said that the 3.8L will suffer. When in reality, that was incorrect, and the Jeep got better fuel efficiency and could hold it's speed better on road. Off road, the 07 was better than previous. So what was the problem?

Same goes for the R56. What is the problem? More ground clearance, bigger, refined, yet still handles as good as the older ones and sure as hell are a lot faster!

That said, great job on the R56!

I haven't found the R56 to be faster than my R53, especially the one I've autocrossed against.

There have been issues with the Peugeot engine as it's been installed in other cars. I don't keep up with the R56 forum to know if that's true there.

Refined rides, ground clearance, and length are wonderful..... if you drive an Escalade.

more then anything my motivation was the constant problems i unfortunately suffered from with my r53,
and when i learned that i needed to get my flywheel replaced 3K miles after i got my clutch replaced i decided i'd had it.
I talked to my cousin and getting more then a few thousand off of sticker for a near fully loaded 07 is fine with me, i am going to miss my r53 dearly, and that S/C whine will be irreplaceable. My final goal is to one day buy another one used and turn it into my daily racer as my r56 is on its way to be my weekend drag car in the coming years

Refined rides, ground clearance, and lengh are wonderful, if you don't give up handling, which from what I understand, the R56 hasn't. Here in Denver, you could use a little extra clearance, especially if it's your DD. Additionally, I will say that I prefer the SC over the turbo, but that is because I like the music to the ears.

Nobody would want a smoother ride, better gas mileage, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a quicker 0-60 time, faster top end, a new 4 year 50,000 mile warranty, and thousands off list too....would they?

Have fun!!
