^ OK, I was the one who said the no temp tag thing was a stupid rule (it is) and that we have a lot of rules here (most of you do in your states too). But as for the rest of your comments, they're nonesense. The "taxachusetts" thing is waaaay old news and not even true any more. Jane Swift was a moron, but the latest Republican (yes, Republican...we haven't elected a Democrat for governor in over 10 years) is also an idiot. Being female had nothing to do with it.

Fine if you don't like Kennedy or Kerry, but tell me your state and I can probably find something wrong with your senators too. Should I take that out on the whole state?

And as for NH...well, I don't know if you might live there (your comments impress me as perhaps coming from someone who does), but I work there a lot for the state govt...and if you want to see pointless rules, NH beats MA hands down.

MGCMAN, read the papers much? Acting-Governor Swift has been gone for six months. Sorry to encourage the continued hijacking of this thread, but lord what an ill-informed and ridiculous outburst that was.

Gotcha

I was just trying to inject a little life into this thread. Remember, its about having to wait to get the MINI because the paperwork hasn't been brought up to date.

No offense intended to you yankee whalers.

Bah!

If you want real fun come on down to chicago!

Where we give blind panhandlers parking tickets!
Where white males qualify for minority set asides!
Where the annual summer sport is seening how many people your porch will hold before it collapses.
Other favorite sports include driving into peoples houses and watching our sports teams wither and die.

oh yeaaaah.. the whole no-temp-plate thing here in MA.

Hahaha... ahem. I bought my car in NY. The dealer there was actually trying to tell me that I needed to drive to New York, get the certificate of origin for my insurance company here in MA and THEN turn around and drive back to New York to get the car. Uh uh! No way! They made do with faxed copies until they could get it notarized and sent to my leasing company so they could send it to the insurers.

I wasn't exactly legal for about a month here... I had Ohio temp plates on my car (the leasing company was in Ohio) on a car that was insured in Massachusetts and bought in New York.

Don't do that. It'll give you ulcers. Your insurance company will HATE you.

As for insurance.. I'm paying $1200 a year right now. Since I've got a flawless record right now, I could and am planning to switch to another group that offers a 10% discount so I'd be looking at $840 a year. Just have to research the insurance group and make sure that they actually pay. I'm 24 and female and driving since 16 with no accidents or speeding tickets yet.

My NY dealer wanted me to do something of this sort...but of course that would have meant about another two weeks of waiting from the time that my certificate of origin (remember, there's a thread somewhere about this

Jsun, Senator_Rude, chrisnl,

I know I shouldn't be beating a dead horse, so to speak, but MA and Chicago both appeared on the "don't do this" thread link about leaving your children on the roof of your car!!

Nah, in NH they don't fall off of the roof as the kiddies either just run along behind the cars.

There...finally a hijack that might bring them outta the woods.
