Nope, never read a post about this (and I read a lot..). Sounds pretty implausable though. I mean, virtually no one is selling less than MSRP, and some are well over. Why would anyone give away "extras"?

May be a specific dealer doing this (and then, I'd look pretty hard to see if you're not actually paying for them).

I haven't heard of this either...unless there was some foul-up with the car "as-delivered", and that was usually a dealer peace-offering.

I was offered some "extras" from my (former) dealer, MINI North Scottsdale, but the offer was snatched away before I could respond. It happened over the July 4 weekend. I had been on their list to buy an '04. I was told that a deposit was not necessary at that time, but maybe later. No problem (I was offering to put money down right then and there). Well, on the Saturday of the 4th of July weekend, an email was sent to my work address letting me know that deposits are now necessary, and if I had the $ to them by Sunday evening I would get $250 of stuff (boot box, mats, valve caps, etc.) Of course, I didn't get the email until Monday morning. I called immediately to place the deposit, believing surely the offer was still available. NOPE! The offer expired Sunday night, tuff sh*t, no exceptions. My next call was to Faron at MINI Center in San Antonio about ordering my '04.
