define 'should'

Just to be clear..this is your opinion....

Loaners are a dealer policy ... nothing 'dictated' by the BMW/MINI gods. So for reflecting in your #'s - no arguement there. (I refuse to fill 'em out btw ... BMW/MINI has perverted the tenants of TQM with their use/abuse of this data)

When I was looking for a car it was one of the questions I asked: "do you provide loaners for service calls?" But of course for most of us, if we want a MINI, there's only one dealer so our options if we don't like the answer are???? Unlike buying a Mazda or a Chevy with several dealers close by - - oh ya, like they'd ever give a loaner

Funny story - first time I took my 02 in for service they were out of loaners altho policy was to provide so they took me to a rental agency down the road. No problem....sign here....I was ready to go in 5 minutes....IN A LINCOLN TOWN CAR . I bought a MINI cuz it was mini....my office parking space in an underground garage was TIGHT....I was wondering if the TC came with line handlers and a bow thruster

I just bought my 2004 MC a week ago Saturday; as part of the sale, the dealer is replacing a cracked interior driver's side door panel, and checking/replacing (if need be) a valve cover gasket and power steering unit. They are also giving me a 2nd key, as that was what was supposed to come with it according to the trade-in paperwork (apparently the dealer lost the 2nd key!). Gosh, the more I mentioned stuff I thought could be repaired, the further they bent over backwards. The door panel is supposed to be in early next week, and I asked my SA if I'd get a loaner while Minnie was in for this service, and he said "You bought the car from us, most certainly you'll get a loaner". Motorwerks BMW, Bloomington MN. I can't recommend these folks more!

Just seems to me providing a loaner is a great marketing tool that really costs the dealer very little. This is right in there with "things that make you go hmmmm!"

Haha great question. I'm a 25yr old male. Still think they're gender biased? I'm nothing but polite when I speak to the dealer. Like I said, they just don't care (in terms of service, and sales). I guess that's what happens when you're the only Mini dealership for hundreds of miles...

i told them i needed a loaner car since i wasnt going to sit and wait for my brakes to get replaced and they gave a 335i!! if i knew they were so leanient i would've asked for one the last time i came and waited for 4 hours!!! If you tell them that you need one, a large dealership should have plenty of loaner cars on hand to let you use.

yeah Mini of Mountain View is a pretty awesome dealer..i brought my car in for a runflat light error which was fixed in 3mins with an appointment but i forgot to scheldule one for a third brake light crack but the bumped me up to a rush fix and waited 30 mins longer and was on my way..as for a loaner never needed one from mini i always bring along my bike so i just go on a ride to palo alto and back...but yeah the deal is if you buy from that dealer and service at the dealer they get you a loaner free.. just need a credit card for security.. thats the perks for buying from that dealer..but if you do service out of your dealer they should be able to set you up with a loaner from enterprise..from my experience with my cousin in riverside taking his car to BMW down there...

I bought my mini from a nissan dealership here in AZ and when i go to the mini dealership for work they provide me with a shuttle to the rental car agency and give me a voucher. i only have to pay 5 bucks a day for the car snd replace the gas. Im ok with that. seems fair.

Lauderdale MINI gave my wife a PT Cruiser loaner, then called her back the next day b/c they found a MINI loaner for her. They knew she wanted a MINI no matter what!! It turned out to be a silver, 2006 MCS with leather seats--very nice loaner for sure!

I'm at Motorwerks in Minneapolis today for Maintenance #1 and passenger side motor mount replacement. I was offered a MINI loaner for the day without prompting.

I actually declined it. (Too much work to get done, so I'm camped out in the dealership lounge--though, there's always time for a quick peek at NAM )

sounds pretty sweet that your mini dealer will go out of there way to keep you as an on going mini customer.
