Question

Hi everyone~

I'm pretty new here, I've been reading for awhile and just started posting. I have a dumb question.....

I got my 04 MCS in June. I love it! The previous owner unfortunately did not provide the dealer with the owners manual.

I had a light come on tonight on the gauge above the steering wheel. It is opposite the blinker indicator and it is also green. It looks like a gauge with a line coming off the side. I have no idea what this is.

Can anyone explain to me what this is? Sorry if this is a dumb question...

I could not find anything from MINIUSA, and the closest MINI dealer to me is quite a drive away, so I can't just pop in.

If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it!!

Thanks

Sounds to me like you have turned on your cruise control

Thats the cruise control. I have an 05 with the three spoke steering wheel, so i"m not exactly sure but there should be a button with a circle on it on the front of the steering wheel next to one of the horn buttons that turns it on and off. Then there are are two more buttons on the front of the wheel, one with a "+" and the other with a "-" on it. When the cruise is on, it can be set to you speed above 30 or 35mph by hitting the "+" button. Tapping the brake or depressing the clutch will deactivate the cruise. You're going to have to ask someone with an 02 to 04 to tell you where the "cancel" and "resume" buttons are.

You can grab a PDF copy of the owner's manual at www.motoringfile.com.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the quick responses. As suggested it was the cruise control. I guess I need to use it once in awhile!!
