Dumb Question...

Where is my battery? I haven't gotten a service book yet and the other day when putting in my Alta intake I thought I would find my battery hidden under the stock air box.. But it's not there.. Is it in the rear where the spare tire should be? (I have a MCS)

Also.. Where and how do I change the ait filter the the caben? The hepa filter they sell for 28 bucks? I want to change it out since my Mini is a 2003..

The battery will be in the boot, underneath the carpet. I believe the filter is in the glove box and I trust someone will correct me if I am wrong.

But I seem to recall there are a couple places to hook up jumper cables under the hood also, depending on why you are looking for the battery.

Link is bad.. But Thanks! I will look in the boot area. I figured it was back there somewhere. Anyone know how hard it is to change out the cabin filter? It's not like changing out a heater core or anything is it?

The air filter is UNDER the glove box. I looked at mine and I remember that getting the cover off was a PIA. but it does come off. I have a 04 MCS with auto A/C.

Hm .... mine popped right off. Replacement took about 5 minutes the first time and now having done it, I'd estimate 90 seconds next time around. (02 with auto a/c)

Don't panic when you compare the filter you buy and the cover you are about to pull. The filter is twice as long.... The filter slides up and in thru the opening you'll expose. You may want to put some newspaper or a drop cloth down b4 you pull the cover as some crud may fall....save getting the vac' cleaner out.

You can get plain paper or charcoal filters....

bt

when I picked up my 07 I was looking in the trunk and asked "where's the battery now?"

I posted about the link after I figured out how to see it.. Sorry. The filter looks like a nice easy change. Since my mini is used I dont have a clue when/if anyone ever changed it. I will do that this week for sure.
