R50/53 CVT - SportMode before break-in period
Anybody w/CVT use the SportMode regularly before the 1,200 mile break-in period. Nothing really in the owners manual about yes or no on this issue.
Would appreciate any experiences and/or thoughts on this subject.
BTW, I know there are a lot of CVT threads out (and I've read plenty) but I can't find any specific regarding my question above. Thanks.

I used it only once or twice before the magical 1,250 mile mark but never exceeding the 4,500 RPM limit during the break in period. My recommendation is to go easy on the car during those first 1,200 miles and then have all the fun you want after that.
I too used the Sport Drive mode of the CVT during break in quite often. I am past that now and notice the car to be going stronger than ever (in all modes). Take the above advice and try not to go over 4500 rpms. That way, good times are ahead

First time I used SD during break-in period, my car stalled out. I BROKE IT, I thought. This random stalling thing happened for months before MINIUSA told my stupid dealer to replace the wiring harness.
I'll echo the others, use it, but don't go hog wild. Same with manual mode.

I only have 700 something miles. I drive sports like a quater of the time just for fun. I dont know if this is the best idea. it feels good. i try to stay under 4500 rpm. sometimes i just need it for better acceleration in the freeway. i drive the tiptronic also. I spent one night giving it an initial break in by going pretty crazy with the tip tronic. it was fun
