1st Gen NAV problems, help!

I've got a 2003 MCS with NAV. I know there are problems with the NAV in cold weather. Mine doesn't recognize the CD in the unit until it "wants" to...anybody else have this problem that got it solved? Dealer has done what a TBS says will correct it, still doesn't always work. Anybody got any words or wisdom or info on a solution?

Did the dealer try a different CD? What condition is the disc in? Visible scratches?

CD is pristine! Dealer pulled a brand new CD and same problem. Once the car/frame module/interior warm up the problem seems to go away - usually.

Are you still on the OEM battery? After ~5 years it could be time for a change - those electrons move a little slower in the cold.
