You have to loosen the rear splash shield to get at the light socket. The reflector is bolted to the wheel arch, so don't try to pry on it, because it will break.

Thanks

so removing the reflector is unnecessary? Just loosen the splash guard and I should be able to access the bulb?

thanks again.

I had to plug the socket back into the running light on my MINI after the body shop that did repairs failed to do it.

As I recall, there's a phillips screw holding the back part of the inner fender. I dont remember if I removed the wheel or if I was able to use a short screwdriver, but either way you take out that screw and then pull the inner fender and if your hand is small enough, you can reach behind it and twist the socket to remove it from the running light.

Thanks ...

I'll give it a try. But i'm pretty sure with rims and wider tires, I'm gonna have to remove my wheel. What a pain.

They don't burn out often. I've had the same ones in my car since it was built 5 years ago.
