R50/53 cracked windshield, hard starting and stumble
I purchased my minicooper S just two months ago. I'm unhappy to let you all know that my car suffers from all the same problems I've read about here. My windshield is chipped and craked, now that is warmer I've noticed it can be harder to get the car started. And then there is the stumble, I can't understand why BMW has not corrected any of this problems yet. What's the story? Is BMW doing anything to solve this issues ? Is there anything my dealer can do for any of the problems my car has ? Any imput will be greatly appreciated.

Since you ask for any input, here's mine.
If you truely read all the other threads, you will already have the answers to all three of your questions.
Why not make your first post to the MCO something special, you know, something a little less retorical?

While I agree with Dominic in that you should write about something more positive about your MINI experience in your first thread (by the way, WELCOME!), I understand your concern.
The problems you mention with your car are not uncommon. (though my car has always started and the windshield is perfect. I do have the stumble, however.)
The truth is, none of us really know for sure if BMW is doing something right now to correct these issues. Therefore, contrary to what Dominic suggests, I would think that reading previous posts on this issue will probably leave you with more questions than answers.
My advice is for you to enjoy your car despite it's minor flaws for the time being and be alert for any news from BMW or your dealer.
By the way, your MCO name suggests to me that you might enjoy visiting our Mexico Forum right her on MCO by clicking the "forums" link. There you'll find other spanish speaking MCO members (including me) from around Latin America and of course Mexico.

I love my mini cooper, I'm sorry I've come across wrong. I'm happy to have found this forum and I thank you for your comments. That said, I still feel frustrated with the issues my car has. I know there is no perfection, but there has to be a way to solve this problems. My mini is a great sorce of joy, it's better than getting in my leathers to go for a motorcycle ride. I have only used my motorcycle for my comute to work once since I purchased this car. My car is black with white top, mirrors and stripes, all three packages, black and blue leather seats with blue floor. It realy is a very cool little car, I love looking at it. I'm looking forward to having the windshield replaced and I'll continue to bring the revs up to get going. I'll have to play around here more to figure out how to post some pictures.
Be well.

Welcome to MCO, Doscilindros.
Sorry to hear about the issues with your car. I have the stumble as well, and MINI says they are actively working on a fix. Let's hope it is soon. On the windshield issue, I don't know. I have one small pit, but no cracks. I know others that have cracks. It does seem that the glass is too thin/fragile.
As for your post, the truth will set you free. I don't know what's wrong with telling the truth about your car, expressing concern, and asking for help.
I think one reason MINI doesn't move faster on these issues is that sales are high, demand is strong. As long as we keep blowing sunshine up MINI's @ss, there isn't much incentive for MINI to fix things. If all of a sudden 5 out of ten posts are negative, MINI will move quickly to fix things...well, maybe.
The MINI is a great car, but we need these problems fixed. If these problems remain, the MINI becomes a really beautifully styled, great handling annoyance.
My 2 cents.
See ya,
JS
