Well, Everyone!! MINIclo is at the Vehicle Processing Center in Oxnard, CA, getting probbed, prodded & man-handled in preparation for the BIG DAY! Spoke to Tony at Long Beach today and she is due there on Monday, 8/26, and I'm tentatively scheduled to take delivery on Tuesday, 8/27!

I say tentatively, because I've learned after all these months on the MINI forums, not to count my chickens before they hatch!

I'm not sleeping very well, but I don't care, 'cause MINIclo is in Cali and coming home soon!

Cheers!
Clover

After the wait comes the hard part! Driving through the break-in period! Ok, ok...it's not that hard at all compared to "The Wait".

>>I say tentatively, because I've learned after all these months on the MINI forums, not to count my chickens before they hatch! this sucks.... all these people getting their minis and i don't have one yet I can't wait to get mine!!!

That reminds me... to hold me over (it's not really helping..... it's making me want the car even more)...... I went to the local superwalmart and found these little matchbox/hotwheels cars..... there's this one for 97 cents i thought it was pretty neat! I'll haveta try and get some good pix of them for you to see!

Majormini: You know it! But it's a delicious sort of suffering! And I'll be "driving" MINIclo crazy soon, instead of all my friends and relatives!

CONGRATULATIONS! It's almost time! OOOOH- I'm so happy for you!!! I wouldn't be surprised if MINIclo arrives earlier at the dealership. Since Long Beach is 2nd closest to Oxnard, it will arrive at the dealership the same day it leaves the Dist. Center. Mine landed on a Thursday, made it to the center in Oxnard the same day, left there Friday, and got to the dealership that night! Be sure to let us know how it goes. I can't wait to see your pure pure silver at the Santa Paula meet. What a lovely color! What packages did you get? Congrats!

Clover! Congrats! It is so exciting that MINIclo is here. I am very happy for you. Don't worry about the break in period, it will go by fast. I know, cuz I didn't do the break in period and mine is just fine.

I hope to see you still on the forum. Don't know when you will have the time since you'll be out motoring all the time!

I think you're right, Major! It reminds me of waiting for the big childhood events, like Christmas, birthdays, etc. Thanks for your encouragement!

Cheers!

Yahoo! Monday will the day you remember for a long time! Get lottsa pics, and go out to dinner to celebrate. Rename the day to MINIday on your calenders. Wear matching clothes to compliment your car. Take the LLLOOONNNGGG way home. When you sit in it for the first time, Pretend you're Schuie on the line for the Nurburgring. Wear racing shoes, Puma Speed-Cats are best for the street, or if not, Doc Martens. Remember to try EVERY switch and button, look under the bonnet, bring something to put in the boot, and play a CD you love while singing along.
Be prepared for the "Fishbowl Paradox" , where everyone is looking IN, while you're trying to make the cat think you're NOT a minnow. Cars that slow down to look, then speed up, are just curious, and you can keep your eyes on the ever winding road. The ones that match speeds with you are ready to give you a grin and a thumbs up, so take a quick glance, and smile back - knowing you're in the best car on the planet and their not.. Unless it's another MINI, and then you have to find a place to stop & yak. Hope ya have fun!

BCNU,
Rob in Dago

Congrats, Clover!! That is great news! I can only imagine how excited you are. Of course, I'm a wee bit jealous since I will still be waiting for mine for many more months.

Gotta train my husband, Rick, how to use the digicam for the obligatory pics of the BIG MINIDAY, which will be marked on the calendar henceforth, along with the day production was complete, July 15, which makes MINIclo a "Moonchild!"
