I am looking for a fuse to tap off of for my Valentine 1 Radar Detector and am trying to find the best fuse to tap off of (going to use an add-a-circuit device). Does anyone have any suggestions?
I don't have the heated windshield or PDC. The pictures on the back of the fuse box cover are not the easiest to understand, and some simply lead you to a manual (doesn't have any info on the specific fuses).
Can I simply tap into one of the empty ones? I would also prefer that is switched with the ignition power.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
DJ

That is exactly what I am going to do when I get a chance. Check the owner's manual for what fuse is off when the ignition is off.
I usually wedge the wire or a spade coonector into an existing spot, and push the fuse back in. If you put it in the protected side, you will have double fuse protection.
Have not looked for a good ground connection under the dash yet.
Also, see a previous post where the power was taken from the clock area (supposed to be a "switched" hot line up there too (sunroof).
Good luck and let me know how you make out.

I did tap into wires behind the clock and put on fuse which come with Valentine 1. That way you do not need run the wire up the roof.
there is the post about this somewhere. Search for Valanrine 1.
