When I park in the lot at work, it's usually next to a person that uses my car as a door stop. Has anyone put any kind of side molding on their MINI? The sides are totally unprotected. I would like to add some aftermarket side molding, hoping it still looks good.

Any suggestions?

sirron has some nice, sporty side molding on his lovely liquid yellow MINI. I noticed it at the meet- very nice. Ask him what he did. Sorry I don't have a photo (I didn't take individual car shots).

What I do to prevent door dings is park on the left side of a planter so no driver-side door will open into my car. I also park way over to the right within the spot so there's a lot of room between my car and the car to my left. If there are no planters around, I would park it in Siberia and walk.

My luck at work, I have an assigned parking space and it is in the middle. Our deck are 3 spaces between columns and I get the middle, 33% chance and I get a middle, so I most of the time park in the open parking, leaving my spot empty and park as close to the concrete column as possible leaving plenty of room for the careless people to swing their doors open as far and as fast as they want. I will be very very upset when I get my first door ding! My other car is 7 years old and has one ding in it, from parking at the airport and getting whacked. I park so far out at the mall, I have to get there when they open so I have enough time to walk from my car to the door before they close, if you understand where I am coming from on that.

Not really on topic (well.... kinda)......
I am very particular about where I park my car as well..... Very!
About 3 years ago..... shortly after buying my current car (a Honda Prelude) I stopped at a McDonalds for an egg McMuffin (

Bottom line... Protect those MINIs!

I say if you park and get and ding and you can figure out who did it...you open one big ol' can of Whoop-*** and call it good. You're going to pay the bill anyhow, and it is a MINI. It's a mean world, may-as-well be the meanest. Just kidding, of course, but it's what most people would like to do with the disrespectful punks out there.
