R50/53 New BFP Carbon Fiber pics...
>>I bought a 2nd scoop, painted it black and installed it on my yellow/black MCS. Looks very cool IMHO. Not quite as professional looking as I would have liked, but pretty good. I'll post a pic one of these days.
how much did the second scoop cost ya?
how difficult was the install?
did u paint it flat black or glossy black?
lastly, i think buying another scoop and painting it would be the best thing for me, because in that case it would match the black aero grills. the carbon fiber i think doesnt match the aero grills perfectly.
thats said, i LOVE the carbon fiber, and if i had the cash, i would buy it

I bought it from Brian @ Classic Auto Campus (an MCO sponsor) for $58. It comes primed. I bought a can of gloss black paint and a small can of gloss clearcoat (about $10 total). I wanted the same finish as my roof, but didn't quite get there.
The install was about 10 mins. There are 6 screws to remove. The seal to the intercooler uses 4 (2 use a philips head and 2 use a small socket) then the actual scoop uses 2 more philips heads. I had already removed my intercooler seal a couple of times to install a grill in the scoop.
I would like the CF, but I don't think I can justify the cost to the wife. And I agree with about the matching. I prefer to have the consistant look. Now...if I could get a CF roof....

Alice (Cooper) is almost as much fun as I had hoped. It keeps getting better and better. Maybe my fuel economy would be better if I wasn't having so much fun? Liquid yellow with a black roof and bonnet stripes. The plates say MINIAC.

I like the color contrast, yellow with the black.
