I bought a new MCS (sport, premium pkgs) this weekend, drove it off the lot Monday, and I have a couple questions.
Why is it when I try to engage the cruise control the light blinks twice and I am unable to use CC?
Also, how do I get the interior light to comeon when I open the door?
Help me...I love my Cooper S.

smf, welcome to the site!
As far as the cruise control goes, my dealer told me to lay off it during the break-in period, since you are supposed to be doing just the opposite - mixing up the gears and rpms.
That said, engaging it takes two steps:
1. Press the button on the left side of the wheel with the cruise symbol (circle with a line).
2. Press the + or - button on the right side of the wheel.
That's it. As long as you're at highway speed (cruise doesn't work below a certain speed, 35 or 40 mph as I recall), that should do it. If not, I'd contact your dealer.
I'd check the manual for the dome light thing. Probably not complicated. You must somehow have it in total off mode. Have you tried pressing it once or twice before opening the door?
Enjoy!

Hold the light switch(the one in the middle) for a few second and the interior lights will blink to confirm that you change the setting.
good luck...

Your cruise control needs a repair that should be known at the dealer. It involves putting a diode on a brake signal line so the cruise doesn't mistakenly think the brake is on.
Neutral
scooterboy is right on that one. This happened to me on day two. The dealer should be aware of the problem and it is an easy fix.

WElcome! I'm just past the break in and had the same question on the interior lights.
Check out the things you can do with custom programing and have the dealer set things up when they do the Cruise/diode thingy.
Follow me home lights..you can have the headlights stay on when you turn off the key to light your way up the driveway etc.
Open the sunroof and windows with the remote key so it's cooling as you approach on hot days
Don,t forget you can hold the key back when you lock up and close all windows and sun roof when parking.
Enjoy!
