R50/53 Defrosting your car?!?
I dont know if it is just me but I live in New York and right now we have a great amount of rain.....I cant seem to get the car to defrost fast enough. I have to keep the blowers on full blast for it to work. Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas.????
I too live in rainy NY and the defogger has worked very well. MTY LITL has auto a/c and the windows always clear within 5 seconds or so after pushing the button.
Make sure your a/c compressor is kicking on when you activate defogger. That is what pulls the moisture out of the air that would otherwise condense on the windows and cloud them.
Good defogging is a critical safety feature.

Hint: In very humid conditions you can get the glass to clear faster if you do NOT recirculate the air. I have noticed in rainy conditions and colder weather (especially with damp occupants) the defogger fights a losing battle trying to keep up, mostly the side windows. Recirculating the damp air makes it worse, and in colder weather the a/c will not kick in even if it's selected. Taking in fresh air pushes the humid air out.
Living in Hawaii, I don't think the RECIRCULATE button is ever used.
Since we have quite a bit of humidity and rain, it's quicker to defrost/fog with the A/C on with fresh air coming in ( REC off).
Of course we don't worry too much about foggy windows when we get snow
