I currently have a 92 Accord ex 5 sp with a 95 Prelude vtec engine and TVs, dvd player, and full sound system. I am sadly selling it now to make the downpayment on my MCS. But I know as much as I love my accord, once I get the MCS I'll be like: "Accord? What Accord?". Before the accord I had an 87 Cadillac Brougham, 80 Cadillac Sedan De Ville, 68 Pontiac Tempest, 82 Buick Regal, and an 80 Pontiac Grand Prix.

They would totally finish the outfit!<<

I'll be trading in my 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS with 100,000 miles for a Chili Red S with white roof/mirrors in four months. I can't wait. I'm like a kid before Christmas.

Other former cars include a 1972 Capri, 1974 Fiat X-1/9, 1978 Mazda GLC, 1982 Sentra, and a 1986 Subaru 4WD Hatchback. I drove the Subaru for 10 years. The thing would't die. I've always been a small car driver, so I figured I'd get the best small car out there - the MINI!

My son and I share our MINI (though he always seems to get first shot). Our family also presently owns a BMW X5 and 3series, plus a '62 porsche 356. I guess my "driver" is the X5 and before the 3series we had a Chevy Tahoe(yuck). Prior to the X5, my "drivers" were: '98 BMW 5series, '95 BMW 5series, '88 Jag sedan, '83 Volvo turbo, Ferrari Dino, '73 BMW 2800cs, '73 BMW 2002, '71 BMW 2002, '71 Porsche 911, '65 Porsche 356SC, '64 Porsche 356, '68MGbgt, '67MGb,'67 Jag XKE, '68VW squareback, '67 Mustang 390GT, '67 Lemans. I have a real soft spot for the Porsche 356 models but, I REALLY like this Mini. Over the years, besides what I've owned, I've had the opportunity to drive just about anything and everything from Rolls Royce to a '51 Hudson Hornet, given the various involvements I've had in the auto industry. I am looking now to trade in my X5 to get an MC "S". Perhaps the euphoria will some day wear off but, I just love the MINI.

I drive a 97 honda civic...its a very "sensible" car. My husband drives a 2001 PT Cruiser.(junk) I am still keeping the honda for winter as we are in Minnesota and the salt on the roads eats cars alive. So the MINI gets to take a rest while the snow is on the ground. I hope we have a mild winter like we have the last few years, and the MINI will still get 9 months of driving per year.

Here's My list, I got my license at 18 just before I left for college. I'm now 24, and this is my list to date. most were bought with minor problems keeping them from running/passing safety, fixed and sold for a small profit. One (the eclipse) was killed in a head on collision, always hated that car anyway. It was the other guys fault, a very small portion of the settlement money is buying a mini for me, and a slightly used dodge avenger for my wife.

1) 80 something Dodge Omni
2) 92 Fort Tempo
3) 64 Ford Falcon
4) 64 Mercury Comet
5) 79 Ford Pickup
6) 72 Dodge Dart
7) 77 Jeep Wagoneer
70 Plymouth Duster
9) 65 Falcon
10) 93 Eclipse
11) 92 Ford Escort
12) 80 Something Datsun 280Z
13) 66 Plymouth Valiant
14) 59 Ford Thunderbird
15) 86 Ford Thunderbird
16) 85 Ford Thunderbird
17) 77 MG
18) 93 Saturn

I've never owned a new car, and don't plan to again. I've managed to keep cars running that have been abused for 30 years or more by countless previous owners, I know that I can provide a good home and a very long happy life for my new MINI.

In order -

1969 Plymouth Valiant
1979 Civic
1972 Maverick
1969 Plymouth Valiant (yep - same car)
1980 Celica GT
1980 Spitfire (can't believe that I'm buying another Brit car after THAT experience)
1968 Cougar
1987 Ext cab 4x4 S10
1990 Nissan pickup (first new car, last used car ever I hope)
1994 Dodge Dakota Ext Cab 4x4 (great truck - currently driving waiting for my Mini)
2000 Taurus wagon - was lease, just turned in

Just realized that I don't think that ANYONE else in the list had previously owned an English car - guess everyone who does has the same bad experience as I had. I'm relying on the BMW name behind the MINI one in this case...

Davis Gentry
on order: MCS, silver, all the options

'84 Chevy Chevette
'88 Mercury Tracer hatchback (close to dying now, poor thing )

Give this girl a Mini!

I wouldn't have gone near one. British cars have always been gorgeous but, a mechanical nightmare. Besides is there any car that's strictly British any longer? Ford owns Jaguar, BMW owns Mini and I've lost track of who owns Rover, Bentley Rolls and the rest these days. I think it's BMW or VW. The British Isles produce great rock bands but their cars have always been too much of an adventure, with the exception of the original MINI. They've stood the test of time for the most part and I don't forsee any problems with the "new" MINI from my experience so far.
