R50/53 MINIs with no name?
#1
I know its a time-honored tradition, but my MINI has no name. Out of pure guilt, I've tried over and over to think of a name, but nothing fits. Nothing. Personally, I'm okay with this, but surely I'm not the only one. I truly do love my MINI, but I love it as a machine and I can't seem to be able to personalize it beyond that. Any other "no-name" MINIs out there?

No name here....unless "the MINI" counts.
As I've said before, it's a CAR. It's a machine. Not a person. Not a "baby." I have plenty of real people in my life, and don't need to turn my car into one of them.
Oh yeah, I sometimes take the MINI to (evil sounding pause).... carwashes!

Just to add fuel to the fire since there are so many "why name inanimate object?" posts....
Boats are no less inanimate than cars. Boats have names. ALL boats have names--I defy you to find me a boat without a name. Not only that but I just don't think that any serious, lifetime sailor would even consider getting onto a boat that didn't have a name (sailors? feedback?). Potentially superstition, potentially an understanding that everything--particularly inanimate things into which you regularly place the sanctity of your life--have a certain... spirit. A personality. It's a way of relating to the object that just may save your sorry @$$. Or, conversely, the object that may take it. That "responsibility", if you will, warrants a certain respect in my opinion.
Although, if you ain't down with it, that's cool too. Your car.

No name here, I refer to it as "The MINI" and so does my wife and daughter though my daughter likes to say the whole name "The MINI Cooper". I have never given a name to any of my cars. I call them by their model name. Yes, it is just a machine. I give it a lot of respect and it gives me a lot of smiles in return.

My MINI is nameless (other than MINI), so far...
It would be fun if it had a name, but it hasn't found one it likes yet.
The last car that I had, that had a name, was a Volvo named Vernon. A friend hung that name on it, and it just stuck.
So, I'm just waiting for the right name to come along.
