Hi Everyone,

I have a 2005 Mini Cooper S.

The car has been great so far, but slowly it has been developing this feeling when pressing the clutch down.

I read through numerous posts on this issue and it is hard to tell if the problem is with the clutch itself or the master/slave cylinder or pedal.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could isolate where the problem resides.

One thing to note is that if I press the pedal in fast and let it out fast I do not feel the binding. If I press it in VERY slowly as it reaches the last 1/2 of way to the floor the binding is VERY noticeable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Pete

I've noticed every now and then when I press my clutch slowly I feel a click when it's almost 3/4ths pressed. I'm not sure if this is what your talking about. I havent noticed any driving difference, I think what I'm noticing is simply part of the mechanics

I drove another manual Mini today, a JCW, and the clutch was better. It didn't stick like the other one but it still doesn't rise as fast as my feet. It also engages very low. The shifter was not as rubbery as the first car I drove.
