However, when I called them yesterday, they said that my car was out of their system and that I needed to call the dealer. It sounds like our cars are both waiting to get out of Jersey or are already on a truck.

Hey Teldon - Yep, that's what they told me, too. Groan! The waiting is a killer, especially know I could be up at the New Jersy/New York line in about 3 hours.

Oh well, it shouldn't be long now. Monty, come home! Momma's waiting for you.

AAARRRGGHHHH!!!

Currently living in Sicily and was supposed to get my car this week, BUT Italians tend to go on vacation for several weeks in August. To make a long story short, the BMW Italia dealer is closed until Sept 1st and my car is on their lot awaiting final transportation to my local dealer. Can't get my car until September now

Sorry for the rant, but thought you all could understand the frustration I feel here.

Cheers!

Oh, that sucks!!!! I know about the "Italian Job" shutdown (heehee, sorry couldn't resist). We experienced it a few years ago when purchasing some leather furniture which was made in Italy. Normally a 3 month wait but because we ordered in August, the vacation time caused a backlog and we finally received our furniture in late March. I do feel for you, it's so close you can taste it.

Speaking of delays, I wonder if the New York blackout will delay the processing of my car through the distribution center in northern NJ...I know, it is kind of a selfish thought since there are people stranded in NY without electricity, but it is a Cooper S we're talking about here!

GJR, you make a good point. The owner's lounge says my MCS is at the distribution center. But, . . . .I live and work in central NJ, and our power has been unaffected. I'm pretty sure all of NJ is up and running now. I sure hope so, my MCS is supposed to be at the dealer tomorrow.
The wait is agony!!!

Well, my status on the website is still en route but according to my dealer and Ask-Mini it has been off-loaded in NY. Wish they'd update my status so I could at least have the thrill of reading "at distribution center." All the little things that are such a thrill as I wait anxiously for my MINI.

My car has been delivered to the Charleston Port. It will be picked up by the train today, and arrive at the Prep Center on Monday. Yahoo! Looks like I'll have my MINI by the end of the week next week, or beginning of the week after.

Laurie- I know what you mean...I've checked at least four times today to see if they changed my status from "en route", but no luck. It's kind of sad if you think about it...I need to find something else to keep my mind off this car!

I'm still in the en route phase too but clearly MINIUSA has it at the distribution center. I called my dealer today seeing if a truck was expected and they said next week.

It's going to be a long weekend. My new shoes came from TireRack yesterday so between that and the Sony head-unit the Mini is very conspicuousby its absence.

My Mini was also dropped off at the Charleston port on the 15th. My dealer expects it to be in Fort Worth by the 22nd. I sure hope so because the wait is killing me. I am so nervous. I am already afraid to drive it! Gawd, what if someone hits it??? I will go hormonal real quick!

I was bumped up to "distribution center" sometime on Friday. I wonder if that's when they put that stuff into the system. It's a matter of time now. Not that that helps at all. We're in a footrace Laurie. Are you having much done at the dealer?

I'm getting rallye lamps and a little grille work done. So that should cost me an extra day of motoring. It's a haul for me to get from DC to Dulles, but something tells me when its ready to go, I'll be there that day.

I'm not having anything done at the dealer other than them cleaning it up post-transport. I'm going to shop around for someone to put on the bonnet stripes and I'm going to add some interior chrome but I'll do that myself. It was tempting to get a few things done but I want it NOW!!!!

I have NEVER felt this excited about getting a car.

I wonder how many Velvet Reds they have made since mid-July. You have to be in the last 100 or so.

Yeah, ain't that COOL!?!

I'm pouting right now because it looks like my MINI might arrive at the dealers on Thursday or Friday and I am leaving town for the weekend on Friday morning. Then hubby is working a double at the hospital on Monday so the earliest we can pick it up will be Tuesday next week. BooHoo!

I would skip the trip on Friday but I promised my daughter I would help her move some of her stuff to her new apartment in GA this weekend. Her husband is still on restricted liberty at Fort Gordon (1 more week of that) so she will definitely need help unloading and hauling stuff up the stairs. Also, since she and my 6 month old grandson will be leaving me for good in 2 weeks I really want that extra time with them.

Another couple of days won't hurt me, I guess. It might not really be ready until then anyway.

OH that's horrible. I don't want to have to go thru another whole week of waiting. I've managed not to call today. I hope it's just there and they're working on it.

Btw, does anyone know what autocarrier line MINI uses?

No matter, within a few weeks all of us on this August thread will be experienced motorers and will be reassuring the folks who are still waiting.

Just got the call. My MINI is at the dealer. I should be able to pick it up by the end of the week. Hope everyone else on the Tokyo Highway gets good news soon, too.

Congratulations Teldon! I know you've been waiting patiently along with me. Mine was on the boat along with your MINI, and I'm still waiting for the call...
