R50/53 Feet too wide for Mini pedal placement?
>>I had the same problem and I have only size 10 feet. I adjusted over time. First few weeks I kept glancing off the brake when I stepped on the gas. I'm still not mad about the pedal positions, but I don't press two pedals at the same time any more. I have to say, though, I have given up trying to heel-and-toe with this car. It is the first stick shift I haven't been able to do this with.

After a few days of driving I find that I can't heel and toe either, but I can sort of "toe and toe." That is, I can use the right side of my right foot to hit the gas pedal while hitting the brake with the left side of my right foot. This may turn out to be a good thing as I don't have to twist my foot sideways like with true heeling and toeing.
I may have to put off practicing this for a while - the engine check light came on Friday, and yesterday we noticed that the coolant overflow bottle is leaking. I thought the previous owner had already had the bottle replaced but it turns out he had the water pump O ring replaced. And regarding the engine check light, we checked the gas cap, it isn't loose. Oh well. The nearest dealer's an hour away. Dang it.

Another good pair of shoes to wear are Adidas Sambas. They are a narrower styl shoe and I love driving with them. The have a good amount of grip to them as well. I have a big, wide foot as well (size 13) and these shoes are excellent driving shoes aside from "true" driving shoes.

Yikes.... You are doing it right allready.... the name heal and toe is miss leading!!!! you rotate the ball of your foot using the heal as a rotation point... to really you are toe and toe shifting..... Keep up the practice when the car is back up to full health.... you are on the right track....
Oh and I wear size 13s and am 6'4" ... I only have 1 pair of shoes that are very wide that give me any problems..... even then I can get by... with sneakers on I am fine...
