Info on My MINI

Well this is coming a bit late but better than never. I attended the Dragon this year and was asked a few times to post the car and the suppliers on what had been done on my car. Surely I'll miss a few things as this is a on going process.

I have owned my MINI S since new. August 2003. My how time flies and quite a bit has happened since then in a personal way but it still seems like I purchased my car yesterday. Over the years the MINI has been really close to trouble free (knock on wood!) and did not have the "common" ills I have heard about other MINI's (ex. YoYo effect). I've been in for the services, a glovebox latch issue when I first picked it up and a TSB. That's it. I have always done my own service and work and includes all oil and gearbox oil changes. I intended to drive the car year round and keep the Elise as the "baby" when it arrived almost two years later. Yep....I pre planned.

So here it goes.

Original Spec:

Dark Silver, Dark Silver roof. 16" runflats, cold weather package, fog lamps, Space cloth and Harmon Kardon Sound system.

I pretty much had "vision" how I wanted the car to appear eventually so no sun roof (have a car that the top comes off) and minimal options since I wanted a pretty "simple car" and this kept the price low.

Alta cross drilled rear.......Alta
Custom Exhuast (Borla race muffler, Magnaflow resonator, SS 2.5 tubing single exit 4" CF, SS tip........Private source

Fluids:

Voll Synthese 5W/30 or 40 (OE filter)

ATE Super Blue Racing brake Fluid
BMW coolant (blue)

I'm sure I forgot something! Future plans are:

Piston engine damper
LED underhood and tailgate lighting
Partial seat eliminator
Schroth seat belt
Rear lower red reflectors
May bail on the Koni's and go for Coil Overs.

Well, that it! I'm close to "completion" of what I was looking for, although I'm sure I can figure out something. However, I do have the Elise to mess with so I think that will be next!

A PhotoShop image I did last spring before the Dragon illustrating the look I was going for. I think I came close!

At the Dragon.

I don't know of the next series of images will appear. They are hosted another site and they did not come up before. I hear the issue was resolved but you never know. I can see them but there are issues I'll find out and send images to NAM gallery.

aside from the Gigantic exhaust tip (it rides the ricer line) and the extra fogs (just not my taste), that is one freaking nice looking car!! Great job

Thanks! The tip is not as large as it looks in person as it does in photos. Besides... I may like a little rice! Driving lamps (not fogs) are easily removable...But I liked the proportion of them to the main beams rather then the little 5" inch ones that fit to the Bonnet above the bumper and the "rack of lights" i.e Atla's light bar that covers the lower intake opening. They are great for for dark roads though!

Just personal preference!
