Hi Terrence,

Thanks for the compliments! We had the roof done at a local sign dealer who also does car striping... he did some really nifty stripes and decals for a bicycle shop's 2 MINIs, so he came highly recommended. If you'd like to see more pics, they're here

To the best of my knowledge, the roof and stripes are the same type of vinyl that the factory uses. We just took in a couple of internet pics of examples we liked, and the sign dealer took it from there. The roof + stripes + install was about $280 US.

Cheers, Dave

>>what you saw WAS a velvet red MINI. I bought my wife one --black roof--for her birthday. (With that present I've earned enough points to last a lifetime!) It is a very interesting color--from a distance and indoors it does look brown. Close up in the direct sun you can detect more red in it. I don't think I've seen this color on any car before. Also, she got the rally lights and they are really cool . . .

>>Your wrong. It WAS brown. I didn't see it from a distance. I saw it from 6 inches away. I have also seen several red velvet MINI's at my dealership. Two different colors.

Now I'm intrigued. My wife's MINI looks just like a hershey's kiss in certain light. And we ordered velvet red. Velvet red is the only color even close to brown. Did you ask the the "brown" MINI owner about the color? I'll send a picture of ours. Maybe the black roof affects the color?
Peace, BFORK

I asked the owner. She said she got a custom paint job after she bought the car. I guess having a MINI wasn't unique enough.
