Door Adjustment

Looking for info on adjusting the driver's door which is not quite flush when closed. In reality, it is barely noticeable but to me, of course, its like a gaping flaw. Is the adjustment made at the jamb or on the latch on the door itself? I'd just jump right in except I'm concerned about losing hardware into the abyss as soon as I back off the Torx screws. (Holding the door closed with baling wire or duct tape would be even less cosmetically appealing!) Thanks in advance.

Any body shop could adjust it for you. Might only cost an hour's labor, whatever their rate is.

If you do adjust it yourself and loose the bits to the abyss, you could add a Mr. Bean style door latch.

My drivers door didn't close flush at the top, a friend in my body shop at work "adjusted" it for me.
He tells me, "just leave the car here and i'll fix it, you don't want to be here when I do it".
I did just that, went back later and it was perfect. I think there was a 2x4 involved.

If the door is evenly un-flush (?) all along the back edge, loosen the 2 large torx-head bolts on the striker loop (just loosen a little, DO NOT remove them). Tap the striker in a little, re-tighten, check for fit, repeat if necessary. Baby steps are key here, because if you go too far, you'll only catch 1 of the latch clicks.
QC at the factory is getting real sloppy. The back left edge of my bonnet sticks up 1/8 inch above the cowl panel.

Had to use the 2x4 tool to install my M7 strut brace!

3cocinas,
Mine's an '04 and the "un-flush-ness" is probably a side effect of an accident/rebuild and not a factory defect. Thanks for the info on adjustment. BTW, the bowing of the left bonnet edge could be a result of an after-market CAI and/or strut brace. I had to adjust the liner under the bonnet to relieve the same problem. Thanks again.
