>>Mine's a feb '02 build, and I have that rattle in the back seat. I thought maybe it was the removable trunk dash, but no avail. I buckled the seat belts, still a noise. It's not to bad, turn the music up, ignore it. Just curious how to get rid of it. Other than that, I'm solid!

Hi

My car is a July 02 build and I have the exact same rattle. Did you ever figure this one out?

Thanks

Bora

March 03 build here, 1300 miles. I have an occasional high-pitched, plasticky rattle/rustle/chirp from the radio/climate/toggle console stack between the seats. It only comes around on certain resonant road surfaces, and I'm sure the 16" runflats don't help as they transmit more vibration into the cabin, but when it's audible it's REALLY audible. Only flaw I've found in the car so far. Has anyone else successfully silenced a chirp in the center console?

I'm amazed, reading all these threads on rattle issues. I've a few myself, which I won't trouble you with, since I've not fixed any of them, yet. In a few more weeks, I'll be taking in my '05 MC to the dealership for MFSW repair and/or replacement (darn thing doesn't always want to work!), and I'll see if I can get a few of these rattles and buzz noises taken care of.

My MC, with standard suspension and tires (not SS+ or runflats) rides fairly well, though it's certainly tighter than any other car I've driven. All in all, it seems to be a pretty nice balance of performance and comfort. However, these rattles (I had NONE, at first) are beginning to bother me more than I prefer. I always expect some creaks from any car, but...geez, c'mon MINI, get your act together guys! Hey, it's NOT rocket science, cars have been in production for...over 100 years now! It's about time some of these cheesier issues were solved, for good. Heck, I could built I quieter car in my back yard! (It wouldn't RUN, but it'd be QUIET. )

All kidding aside, I think MINI can do MUCH better.

Yes - this is many times the case.

thanks in advance!

My 2005's hk passenger side speaker rattles also! Plan is to get fixed when the JCW kit is added.

My 1 year old 2004 MCS with 13K miles, has remained solid, tight and rattle free

I am surprised to hear about rattles in the 2005's. Has the build quality gone down or what?

I passed on the Cold Weather and Premium packages, but got the Sport and No Rattle packages. I guess they don’t offer that last one any more because I have no rattles what so ever and never have.

No packages were ordered for my MCS. I have no sunroof, no auto A/C and no rough riding 17" runflats. Less is better and it shows

I got the few extras I knew I would enjoy best: H/K, Rain sensing wipers, front fogs, OBC and MFSW.

Many people are surprised when it tell them my MCS is a "basic" model. The car looks fantastic and the factory 16" V-spokes have really grown on me
