I just heard from a fellow MINI owner that she was told by MINI of Pittstburgh that replacing her run flats with non-run flats would void her warranty. Has anyone else heard this?

Sorry, I guess this is the topic I was thinking of

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...+void+warranty

It had to do with the comact spare not the runflats.

The dealer will tell you that having a soda in the car will void your warranty. They obviously don't want any more warranty claims than the have to have.

Don't worry about it

planeguy is this the thread you're referring to - the one about a compact spare? I think the issue here is different - especially if replacing them with the correct OEM-spec size tire that just isn't runflat.

Sounds quite bogus to me. I don't think there is much stable ground for the dealership to stand on here. I honestly suspect they were trying to scare her into buying the (really expensive) run-flats, which isn't very cool IMHO.
