getting a vanity plate

Hi. I'm thinking about getting a vanity plate on my Mini. Do I just go to the DMV and it will get taken care of?

How much does it cost?

I've never had a vanity plate and don't know anyone who ever got one in PA, so I was just wondering.

By the way, I'm thinking about either

HG Mini = HG is mercury on the periodic table, mercury is nicknamed quicksilver, quick silver mini.

AG Mini = AG is silver, silver Mini.

I figure neither would be taken, unless another nerd who owns a Mini beat me to it.

Hmm, I'm wondering how I missed that.

I like both of your plate options! "Quicksilver MINI" is beyond elegant!

The AG is a one-step puzzle. HG requires two mental connections (one a bit obscure), which I suspect increases degree of difficulty by an order of magnitude. I think your choice is between a personalized plate that 1-in-10 people might figure out, or one that only 1-in-100 will understand.

I have no idea what I was talking about, but I'm looking forward to the inevitable NAM enlightenment!

While minims makes an interesting point and I like your ideas, I immediately think of AG in relation to the German abbreviation AG for Aktiengesellschaft incorporated (stock company). As in BMW AG, or Porsche AG.

Maybe that's cuz I work at a dealer and see it all day long.

I don't think it should be a reason to not do it, but I just thought I'd share.

BTW, my username is my plate. Wave or beep if you see an all Pepper White Cooper S with MINI2Go plates!

Vanity Plate

I don't know where you live but I got mine from AAA in Cranberry. I'm sure any AA location can help you. It wasn't too much $, I forget since I had other business. I did have to wait about 8 weeks though. My plate is MINDGAP (for Mind-The-Gap) but it does convey how I drive.
