Flat out Friday - June 3rd, Beaverun

Our next track session will be Flat-out Friday, June 3rd on the North Track at Beaverun. Instructed lapping sessions will run all day starting with the mandatory driver's meeting at 8:30 am. You will have about 90 minutes of track time for $150. Pittstop MINI club gets a group discount off the normal $180.

Come out and have a good time June 3rd but call me at MINI of Pittsburgh to register so you can get the group price.

Graham,
I'd love to join you on the 3rd, but it's my last day of work(I'm retiring). Please let me know when the next flat-out Friday is. I really would like to be there.

They have helmets there. You also need some good shoes to drive in. Go to www.beaverun.com and fill out the signup form.

I really want to go....i was just up there and took a few laps around the track.

How are flat out fridays for a begginer? I wanna learn my way around a track. the last event i went to up at beaverun the cars were all passing the slower drivers which seemed like it would be intimidating for the newer younger drivers...

All novices have an instructor and you are placed in the novice group (group 1) where everyone has an instructor. Passing is strictly limited to the two straightaways where the front car driver points out the window once for each car that he/she will allow to pass , at the same time moving over to the right and yielding to the passing drivers. Corner workers watch for unsafe technique and black flag offending drivers who must return to the pits.

Instructors rigorously teach the "line" around the track and coach on such things as shift technique and braking. As such, you will "command" your position on the track and everyone will know what you are going to do. In other words, you maintain the racing line around the track at all times except when allowing yourself to be passed. No driver may pass without permission from you.

I hope this helps.
