worth it??? you bet dude!
I live in CEVELAND and I joined because this club is awesome! They have fun and creative events MONTHLY! No other club does that. Lots of great people and extremely well run. A model club for the USA to learn from. For a few bucks I guarantee you'll have a blast. See you on 7/19 when I come in for the Schenley Park bash!

to be a member?
I am in Central PA. I am a member because the other members of this club are amazing! I met most of them at the Dragon this year. I will admit that I did not know any one really well before the Dragon started. They treated me like family when we spent time together there. So it is most definitely worth it to be a member! I wished that I lived closer to Pittsburgh and could make it to more events! So take advantage of this great MINI network.

Regarding the answer to your other question, being 19 won't be a problem for 99% of our events. We try to have a variety of events that span a broad range. Typically, they involve motoring in some form and a meal. Motoring can range from Driver's Education track events to a rallye/poker run to a caravan/motorcade to a tour to autocrosses. Meals might be a picnic, a catered buffet or a at a restaurant. We try to mix it up so it is hard to be too specific. We have at least one event a month.
Every so often, someone will post about getting together for drinks or happy hour somewhere. These are generally informal gatherings rather than actual Club events, but are just about the only thing that a 19 y.o. wouldn't be able to participate in.
(Keep in mind that "we" doesn't necessarily refer to some elite group - our club is what it is because of the direct involvement of our members. While we do elect officers who take the lead, member feedback, involvement, participation and volunteerism are HIGHLY encouraged.)
