crank pulley puller

Hey all,
I will be putting a crank pulley on the ole MINI S during our next mod day. Does anyone out there have a crank pulley puller for the 03 S?
If you got one I could use for a day, email me: minibeel@yahoo.com.
This is sorta' time sensitive as I may have to buy one if I can't obtain one locally.

Rock on PDX,
dan

just get a crows foot type puller from sears they are like 15 bucks. Then you need some washers and long bolts. the bolts are the same pitch as the intercooler bolts.

Never use a "crow foot" puller on a dampener, you stand a good chance of damaging it by pulling the outter portion away from the inner hub! Of course if you never plan on putting the stock unit back on, by all means, have at it.

the bmw tool works the same way

if you use a heat gun on the center it will make it way easier as well

I used one and had no problem removing the pulley. You also need a belt tension tool and a pulley holding tool if you want to torque the bolt on installation. I didn't have the holding tool (it keeps the crank from spinning when you are torquing the bolt) so I calibrated my impact gun to give the correct torque. I plan on going to the mod day on Sat. and can bring the tools if thats the day yours is being worked on. Let em know.

You all have been a great help. The 2% will likely stay once it is on.

if you could bring your tools, that would be great. I am going to be there on saturday. None of my household goods have arrived from germany yet, thus I have nothing to work with. Oh yeah, and I'm a freeloader!

At the last Mod day, all the needed tools were brought by Alta, or already there at JR's. But it would be great if sandan could bring a backup!

BTW, nice to meet you at the kick off dinner minibeel. Again, welcome to Portland!
