Trying to purchase a new-to-me 05 mini

As the title says, I'm looking to purchase a new to me 05 Mini. It has about 45k on it, its not an "S". I was just wondering if the members of this forum can tell me of anything I need to look for on this used car. I am trying to purchase from a Mini dealer, so it should be a "Certified used Mini".

I'm looking for anything that I need to look for.

Thanks
-Tim

Welcome to NAM.

The CVT automatic transmission is a huge issue on the 1st generation "new" Mini non-S (the S has a 6-speed automatic that's still used today in the new 2012 Minis that is pretty good). It fails early and often. Get a stick shift if possible.

Lots of good info at this forum:
