nah not at a HS, i mean even though personally i agree that an xB is more prone to ridicule than an MCS, most kids own scions so they arent going to diss themselves.

only once have i gotten a neg comment about my car, and it was form some really self centered girl who said the following comment "if i didnt know you i probably wouldnt want to hang with you because of your car"

i thought that was the rudest comment ever, its one thing if some punk said it(who no punk has ever said a neg comment about it, only good things if comments are made), but this girl considers herself to be a good friend of mine (though i dont; obviously not a mutual friendship) i meam i understand honesty and all, but that was just rude i thought, especially since my car is a large part of my life, and she knows that: sorry for the personal rant, but just a thing that really upset me, and something to me that can ruin what little i saw of a friendship

back to the xB http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...cute=1&Count=1 link to gallery of the new xB. On scions its almost better to buy new sicne the resale on used ones is really high

When I pick my brother up from highschool I see tCs all over the place....I don't think I've ever seen an xB in the lot. Most people I see in xB's are elderly men.

Ever think about about an Xa? Its the same thing, minus the whole toaster/XBox 360/cube thing. Its more of a Chuck Taylor thing. Or, if still looking for a Toyota, a Yaris hatch...

why dont you get your son something he wants? and i would go to as many scion websites and do as much research as i could on any car you get. it also doesnt matter how slow a car is, it can still be a deathtrap. it doesnt matter how fast your going when you fly off that cliff, 100ft is still 100ft

Thats what im doing, he wants the XB. That is why I was asking about it. Luckily there isn't many cliffs where I live. Any car is going to be a deathtrap is right. Im trying not to be too overprotective and let him get the car that he llikes. If I was totally a freak about safety Id just get him a used army hummer so he can just drive through and over things.

Get him the xB, then place restrictions on the number of people he can carry, the the size of the stereo he can have in it until he pays you back for the car or moves out on his own!

I would have to agree that the xB is NOT a mini-van. It could be called alot of things. In Japan it's actually known as a micro-van. In the states it's either a wagon or a UUV (urban utility vehicle). I call mine Toaster. It's also been called a box, fridge, microwave, oven, wash machine. And Motor_On, xB's aren't that slow. LOL. I don't like the xBv2. They're not a box anymore. But if your son is into all the cool culture like the MINI's have, Scion has it too. He can check out www.clubxb.com to get some ideas of what the Scion world is like. They're a bunch of nice people over there. BTW if you want anymore information about the xB or have any questions about it you can PM me. I know pretty much everything there is to know about them.

I think the xB is a great choice for a first car. Its cheap, good MPG, and trendy.
