Are the Brammo assembled Ariel Atoms road legal in the US? Specifically in Texas?

Yes, there are several Atom owners registered in Texas. It is one of the easier states to register. Feel free to pop over to our forum to ask questions

Now, the real question..

is it worth $1800 for a day at the track in an Atom? Keep in mind you get an excellent lunch and a race jacket in the package!

Matt

ps, Masarati announced a similar thing, but only at road atlanta, I think. Price is the same ~$1800

One of our club members has one and was offering rides at a show-n-shine event our club put on. I must say, what an amazing car. They build the cars around 5 hrs from me. Since it takes approx 7 months to have one built, I may look into getting one. Apparently, you pay for it in a series of "deposits", so we could probably swing it. The Mini stays though...

That was me If you end up buying one let Craig At Brammo know so that may be he'll give me a commission or a discount on the carbon fiber wings

I will do that. Thanks again for being so generous with your time and car. It was a very cool thing to do and I know a lot of people really enjoyed it . If you ever need a passenger, let me know. I'll pay fuel....

There are half-day Ariel Atom Experience track events for $500 - I assume that you don't get the catered lunch or racing jacket, and it's supposed to include 45 minutes of track time. I'm just afraid that the rest of the time would be spent on a thinly-veiled marketing "experience" (similar to a timeshare seminar ), but it could be worthwhile just to get some hands-on time with the Atom...

For you Portland, OR folks there will be 2 Atoms at the Portland Historic races these year on 7/7/07 (assuming it doesn't rain). The PDX Mini club is being extremely gracious and is letting us use a tiny bit of the Mini coral to park the cars. I'll be giving rides to any mini club member (with a helmet, we'll probably have extras) during the autocross. Since I'm not that great of driver it will probably include a lot of donuts, smoking tires, and running over cones

Just found this thread!

Bolus, thanks (to you and to Adam) again for bringing the Atoms to the last couple events you attended! I must say, a slalom section of the autocross was a hoot!

It was fun prodding you on, to find the limit of the car in the course. No better time to spin a car when there's nothing around you, eh?

Bolus, at the wheel, with me as "ballast"...

ready for another run...(the "ballast" has the white helmet obviously...)

I'd pay to drive an atom, absolutely. The atom experience, while a free ridealong for me, was a sublime treat.

I can only imagine how fun it is to drive.
