NASCAR anyone?
I love driving around in circles! Roundabouts are fun...but to watch it on TV...I'd rather watch seniors golf. Just my humble opinion...I do appreciate all motor sports for all of the innovation and new products that come of them though! And road racing is a blast to watch.
NA$CAR?
If you mean a densly packed bunch of cars running nose to tail, I get to do that everyday. It's called my commute!
F1 baby!
I never worry about insulting NASCAR fans, I can go faster and turn right.

I'd love to drive one, but I hate to watch it.
Sorry... driving in circles seems so... limited.

I want to make a Bristol Race sometime.
Don't care too much for Nascar. It is just a big publicity money making machine owned by the France family. Followed it for a few years, but quite frankly it bores me to tears.
Give me American LeMans racing series, F1, Indy, WRC and I am there. But Nascar?

I'm a little bit hooked on NASCAR, but much less so since they implemented the incredibly cheesy Race to the Chase "playoff" system. (It's kind of the automotive equivalent of playing the Super Bowl with all 32 NFL teams on the field at the same time, but only two of them are eligible to win the game).
I don't mind watching cars go in a circle (I also sometimes enjoy open wheel racing on oval tracks), and I enjoy the fact that the NASCAR drivers tend to have a lot of personality which adds a certain soap opera element to the whole spectacle. (I.e. seeing rednecks throw beer cans at Jeff Gordon every time he wins...
). But the points system, which barely rewards winning and instead makes it a priority to "not come in last", is completely lame, as is NASCAR's overriding priority to make sure that they have an "exciting" finish to the season by resetting the standings 10 weeks from the finish. (Sorry, but if somebody wins 15 races in the first half of the year and runs away with the title that's a lot more exciting than some articificially arranged "close finish" at Homestead).
It's kind of comical that NASCAR admitted that they needed to emphasize winning more and then... gave an extra 5 points this year to the race winner
. (With their point system previously awarding 180 points for a win, that's about an extra 2.7% emphasis on winning. Gee, thanks!)
Anyway, not to detract from your enthusiasm for the sport. I imagine I will be watching the Daytona 500 as usual, and it will look like this:

Yep, I'm a fan. But I can't watch every race. But the Daytona 500 is on my must watch list as well as Talledega, Bristol, Lowes and Darlington. Visited the Daytona track last year whilst seeing my folks. Man that thing is amazing! Don't have a favorite driver. My friend works at the Goodyear facility that produces the NASCAR tires. Not much rubber on the tread. Anyways, I'd rather watch the Daytona 500 than the Super B*wl. (Can't say the name without violating somebodies trademark thing.)

I've been a #24 fan since the first quarter of '95. Will be sure to catch all the racing this year
The bud shootout turned out to be a dud at the end. Hopefully the COT will change that this fall at Talladega

20 for me. Tony will drive anything. His Chili Bowl win was awesome!

That is an understatement if you are hoping that Toyota are going to make a (positive) impact.
So, how is Juan Pablo going to do ?
I have a feeling that he will either crash out real early, or be a contender in the last few laps - I'd like to see him win it, but Stewart has a point to prove......

My interest in NASCAR waned in the late 80s about the same time it became overly popular everywhere else. Road course racing holds more interest to me as there tends to be more action. I tend to like drag racing for instant results.
I gotta go with #17. Kenseth hails from just down the road a few miles. As far as the races, I usually have them on in the background so I can watch when something exciting happens and of course the last 10 laps or so. It can get a bit boring at times.
